Further along this beautiful stretch of beach is a conservation project, which has been recently set up to protect the turtles who return here each year to lay their eggs in the sand. Visitors are taken by tuk tuk to experience this, and it is also possible to view the babies hatching, if you are very lucky!  Local people are employed to protect the site, and monitor the turtles.
